Das Magic Voice Speech Playtool ist ein Programm für den C64. Es ist eine Mischung aus Spielzeug, Werkzeug und Demo.
Es kann
  • Sprachdateien laden und wiedergeben
  • Speicherbereiche ausgeben
  • Synthesizer Einstellungen anzeigen und ändern
Das Programm ist bewusst in 100% Basic geschrieben, lediglich einige Kernelroutinen werden mit dem SYS Befehl aufgerufen. Der Programmcode lässt sich dadurch leichter nachvollziehen.

Beim Programmstart wird geprüft, ob ein Magic Voice Modul vorhanden ist, entsprechend sind dann die Programmfunktionen eingeschränkt.

Bei der Verwendung eines Emulators (siehe auch Tips & Tricks) funktioniert zwar die Sprachausgabe, aber die Sprachchip spezifischen Einstellungen sind mangels vollständiger Emulation nicht wirksam. 		The Magic Voice Speech Playtool is a program for the C64. It's a mixture of toy, tool and demo.
It can
  • Load and play Speechdata
  • Dump memory areas
  • Show and change synthesizer conditions
The program is intentionally written in 100% Basic, only some kernelroutines will be called by a SYS command. This makes it easier to understand the programcode.

At the beginning of the program, there will be checked if a Magic Voice Module is present, some functions of the program will be restricted accordingly.

If using an emulator (see also Tips & Tricks) the speech output will work, but the speechchip specific settings will be effectless, because of lack of complete emulation.
